Preview of my Spring sewing...

A couple weeks ago Joanne Fabrics was having a 50% off sale on all their Red Tag fabrics.  I picked up four cuts.  The purple print and the black/yellow print is a very soft silky fabric.  I have no clue what the contents are.  The green and the blue fabric is also silky, but a medium suit weight.   I think I spent $20 bucks on everything.
I'm making the jacket shown on this pattern (Simplicity 4014) with the blue fabric, which has already been cut out....I also picked up these two patterns for 99 cents each.

Not sure yet, but thinking the purple fabric for this pattern (Simplicity 2447).  I love the seams that go directly from the shoulder to the bottom, it makes altering a breeze!!!  I like the shorter version, with the cap sleeves.

So, between ripping down all the wallpaper in my kitchen, and painting the ceiling and walls, I'm going to be a busy gal.
These past two weeks at work we've been preparing for trial, which was yesterday.  So, now that stress is off my shoulders too!!  Not that I take work home with me, I just tend to collapse on the couch after a long day....no sewing then!!

I love that black and yellow print it is so soft. I was just looking at the dress I made from it last night, wishing I had bought more.

How funny, I just put that Simplicity top/tunic pattern on my summer "to-sew" list today. I like all the versions of it - esp. the long tunic one. Wouldn't it be great over slim capris? Please make it up soon and post tips! ;)
