Two right sleeves......

What is going on with me? old age? too much going on in my life with job stresses, family....I don't know.  I am making that jacket out of the blue fabric in the picture from my earlier post.  Easy, breezy.....going together beautifully and NO alterations to the pattern, except for taking up 1 1/2" from my back to waist measurement.

Well, I cut out the sleeves, put the dot marking at the top of each one, sewed the seams together, serged it off and realized I had two right sleeves.  I'm just going to rip out the seam of the one and reverse it, but why am I doing this?

Does anyone else have these little frustrating lapses in sewing?

If yor figure out why you are doing these things please clue me in, because I'm doing them too! It's amazing how much more I could get done if I wasn't always undoing and redoing!!! I cannot stay focused anymore!!!

I do that sort of thing, too. I often sew darts on the same side of the skirt or bodice and have to rip it out. Ugh.

I do things like that too and it can't be age (please tell me I'm not losing it at 36!) it can't be from stress (I have none, my son hasn't got his license yet,, only his permit!) haha!
I mess up typically when I'm doing something I think is easy or something I've made before, so I don't pay attention to it like I do with something I think is hard or making something from a new pattern.

Oh darn! This stinks when it happens. NO! It is not age ;) . I call those moments "humbling experiences". There are stretches when I'm feeling really good, sewing a lot and getting that snooty, "I'm really good" feeling because I'm not making mistakes, then do something really dumb. Brings me back down to Earth. Munching on my Humble Pie...

OH-YES!! The last year I'm making mistakes that are sooo unbelievable that I'm not feeling as confident about sewing as I did before. Like I have to check and double-check myself all the time.
Best example is the zipper I wanted to sew in pants a while ago. I really had to sit down and think about it. Which is sad if you know that I sewed zillions of zippers in pants, without giving it much thought. I remember thinking: "what the *** is this, where did my knowledge go??"
Maybe it's age, maybe it's sewing-fatigue-ness. I don't know but it's frustrating.
